INTRAMURALS

Intramurals provide students with a great way to grow, not just in competition but in many other areas. Taking part in these activities helps build social skills, teamwork, and a healthy approach to physical and mental well-being. Intramurals are very important to the school community because they help create well-rounded individuals and a lively school culture.

I'm the esports facilitator for this year's intramurals, and I'm excited to include competitive gaming in our school's athletic programs. Esports are organized video game competitions where individuals or teams compete in virtual arenas. Games like CODM, and Mobile Legends have become incredibly popular, turning gaming from a hobby into a real competitive activity.

Esports also encourages teamwork and collaboration. Just like traditional sports, being successful in esports requires good communication, coordination, and a shared strategy. Teams have to work together, predict what their opponents will do, and quickly change their tactics to win.

Adding esports to intramurals does have its challenges. Concerns about screen time, potential for addiction, and the sedentary nature of gaming are all valid. We can address these issues by creating a responsible schedule, promoting healthy gaming habits, and encouraging participants to balance their screen time with physical activity.
